Installing Prosper202
Get the free Prosper202 ClickServer download, check your server meets the requirements, and install it with or without a terminal.
Prosper202 ClickServer runs on a web server you control, so installing it comes before any tracking setup. This page sums up where to get it, what your host must provide, and the two install routes.
Getting the files
Open a free account at my.tracking202.com, or log in to yours. The download page there adds your e-mail to the free CPM* Newsletter with one click, and the latest release is then ready to download straight away. Dependencies ship inside the zip, so nothing gets compiled.
That same account holds the API key the setup wizard will ask for. Free accounts created from 1 October 2026 also need their e-mail on the newsletter to open the dashboard; tracking is unaffected.
What your host needs
- PHP 8.3+
- MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.6+. The wizard reads your server's version and won't go ahead on anything older.
- Nginx with PHP-FPM (recommended) or Apache
A VPS is the sensible minimum; some shared plans struggle. See Web Hosting Services for options, or check with your provider.
Two ways to install
- cPanel or shared hosting: extract the zip into your web root through File Manager or FTP and load the site. A wizard handles the checks, creates the database, collects the API key and makes your admin user. There's no config file to touch.
- Shell access (VPS, Docker, local): clone the repo and run
./install.sh, or go with Docker. The terminal steps are in the full install guide.
Use a dedicated domain rather than a subdomain or subfolder.
Upgrading an older install to 1.9.77 can't be reversed. Take a backup first and read Upgrading Prosper202.
